Is Pyramus and Thisbe appropriate?

The mechanicals chose this play, but was it appropriate for the occassion? Defend your position.

  1. I think it was appropriate because the play was mainly about love. Pyramus died for love. But the death part is kind of inappropriate for a wedding. Everyone is there to have fun and be happy and that kind of spoils the mood.

  2. I think it is inappropriate, yeah it is about love but at weddings you’re supposed to be celebrating the newlyweds future together. Not death.

  3. I don’t think that it was very appropriate for the wedding. Maybe for an after fun thing to do.

I thought that Pyramus and Thisbe was not appropriate for the wedding because the play discussed death and love but they way that the play was performed they based it more on the death scene rather than the love scene. However, because of there recent events for not being able to reherse they did please the Duke. The play selection that Quince had made was definately not appropriate though.

  5. I don’t think it was a good play for a wedding because weddings are happy and I wouldn’t want someone dying in a play at my wedding. I think they play should have been about a wedding.

  6. I think that the play was appropriate for the wedding. It is about love and that’s what marriage is all about! Also, they were picked to do the play at the wedding by the groom, so if he wanted to see that play then that’s the play they will see.

  7. I think that the play was appropriate for the wedding it was about love and it was still funny. Even though it was not sapposed to be funny they still did a good job pulling it off. They pleased the Duke and his wife to it seemed like they enjoyed it alot

  9. I dont think the play was really the right one for a wedding because there was a death and weddings are supposed to be about new beginings and celebrating not about dieing.

  10. No, I don’t think Pyramus and Thisbe was a good play to choose for the wedding because it’s about death, but the actors made it funny so I guess it wasn’t so bad.

  12. I dont think that style of the play, or even the play itself was appropriate for the wedding. On a couples wedding day the focus is spoce to be on them its their day. People are not supposed to be focused on a terrible play.

  14. It could go either way. Its true that no one wants to think about death on a wedding. But it does show how much love that two people can feel and to what lengths they will go to be together, even in death.

    It was appropriate because it shows how powerful love can be
    It was inappropriate because it had death in it
    Death is not what you celebrate at a wedding

  16. I don’t think it’s appropriate for a wedding because death is uaually a sad thing and weddings should be happy event, so I don’t get why they would ruin the mood.

  17. To the Duke, Pyramus amd Thisbe might of been pleasant and appropriate to him but to me i thought otherwise. I thought it wasn’t the rite play to be performed because it talked about death more than love and it was supposed to be mainly about love. I know that at my wedding i might be thinking about the future with my wife, but i wouldm’t want to think about death.

  18. No I do not think that it was very apporate even though it related to love, i don’t think that there sould be any deths or sadness on a wedding day.
